In business since 2011, Paul Rydza conceived the store after 15 years of searching and praying for just one place to find those special ingredients for his experimental home recipes.  Many times it took 4 or 5 trips to different stores to find different spices and herbs and even then, many ingredients he wanted were nowhere to be found locally in South Florida.  The internet is great, but sometimes he needed that perfect ingredient ASAP for a last minute party that was spontaneously arranged.  Preparing Thanksgiving Dinner for family and friends over the past 10 years, Paul’s come to realize each holiday how inseparably his passion for food and faith were intertwined; on a firm foundation of love for food and others he continues to build a comforting store where people come in as strangers, but walk out as friends.

Lime Fresh Mexican Grill Chef Chris Clayton

“Fresh” “Healthy” “Organic” “Sustainable”
We’re sick of green-washed buzzwords you hear a lot but don’t mean much at all.

So, here’s our no-quote truth:
Our food is freakin’ good. It’s how we went from one bumpin’ burrito shop in hell-raising, health-conscious South Beach to over 19 (… and counting) along the East Coast.

Why’s our food so good?
We use the best ingredients available, that’s delivered daily and prepared on-site for all our homemade salsa, sauces and sides. Plus, we really care if you like it. We make your meal however you want it, bring it out to you and bring it back if it’s not perfect. We’re cool like that.

We also have vegetarian, low-carb and low-fat options. But we’ll be the first to tell you that a mound of sour cream on a low-carb wrap… still has a mound of sour cream. So keep it in check Madam Denial.

So, yeah. If you want delicious, freshly-prepared Mexican food with a precocious, often-offends attitude … then welcome. We like you already.

EXECUTIVE CHEF STEVE ZOBEL: BRINGING THE COTE D’AZUR

TO THE ATLANTIC RESORT & SPA

Positioned at the helm of The Atlantic Resort & Spa’s new signature restaurant, East End Brasserie, is Executive Chef Steve Zobel. A born and raised New Yorker, Zobel joined The Atlantic Resort & Spa with nearly 20 years of culinary experience, most recently serving as executive chef at Manhattan’s famed bistro Triomphe. Under his direction, Triomphe garnered an incredible amount of accolades from top culinary critics and publications describing the eatery as one of Midtown’s top dining destinations.

Earlier in his career, Zobel studied a variety of cuisines and techniques during service at fine restaurants in New Orleans, Boston and Martha’s Vineyard – where he spent six summers at the legendary Black Dog Tavern. Upon his return to New York City, Zobel trained under renowned chef Andy D’Amico at The Sign of the Dove prior to working for the Santos family as executive chef at Contrapunto. Zobel has also worked closely with Meals on Wheels, donating his skills to numerous events.

After confirming plans to launch a new signature restaurant, The Atlantic Resort & Spa tapped Zobel to oversee the development of the new concept and redesign of the space. Upon his relocation to Fort Lauderdale, Zobel brought his vision of an oceanfront French brasserie to reality. Teaming up with the top-notch designers of Cuba-Fernandez Design and the resort’s ownership team, Zobel led the seamless integration of new inspiring décor with a menu of culinary creations that evokes the senses.

Highlights of the new menu at East End Brasserie include:

  • Pan Roasted Sea Scallops with porcini mushroom butter and shaved fois gras
  • Coriander Crusted Rack of Lamb with foie gras stuffed prunes, port wine reduction and spinach
  • Pan Roasted Chicken Breast and Thigh with artichokes, jalapeño, bacon, garlic and tomato cream
  • Mustard Crusted Lane Snapper with braised white beans and sautéed spinach
  • Classic Steak Frites served with lemon caper butter or béarnaise sauce

Throughout 2012, guests will have a chance to attend a series of Chef’s Table dinners hosted by Zobel at East End Brasserie. The limited-seating events will be held monthly and will feature a variety of themes such as “market to table.”

Angelo Elia is the highly praised Italian-born chef/restaurateur whose impressive roster of dining establishments continues to expand. The latest addition is D’Angelo Trattoria just off Atlantic Avenue in Delray Beach. The restaurant joins the three Casa D’Angelos in Ft. Lauderdale, Boca Raton, and Paradise Island/Bahamas, and the D’Angelo-Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas in Ft. Lauderdale. Chef Elia’s creed of always putting the customer first and delivering the best possible quality in both food and service has certainly paid off in spades.

Relocating to the U.S. as a teenager from Salerno, Italy, Elia worked his way through some of New York’s most prestigious kitchens, including the Four Seasons and the family operated La Cisterna.  After a move to South Florida with his wife Denise, Elia served at the helm of Prezzo and H2O before opening his first restaurant in 1998, Casa D’Angelo in Fort Lauderdale.  His old-country passion inspired him to create a menu of traditional Tuscan dishes, using only the finest ingredients and making virtually everything from scratch.

In 2003, after making a big splash on the South Florida culinary scene, Elia was tapped to open Casa D’Angelo in the Atlantis Hotel in Paradise Island, Bahamas, serving the same high quality food and superior service that his Florida restaurant was so well known for.  The location at the Atlantis has been so well received, that it is now billed as “the place to go” on Paradise Island.

Not content to rest on his laurels, in 2008, Elia opened another Casa D’Angelo mainstay in Boca Raton and in 2010, opened the sleek, contemporary D’Angelo – Pizza, Wine Bar and Tapas, located in Fort Lauderdale.  The casual lunch and dinner eatery was an instant success, serving the same quality of food that he is known for.

Elia’s newest addition is D’Angelo Trattoria – opened in 2011 – a warm, contemporary Italian eatery serving up traditional Roman cuisine in an historic 1920’s Delray Beach cottage.

Elia’s culinary acumen and inviting attitude has earned him glorious praise and recognition among local and national media and garnered him numerous awards including Zagat’s America’s Top Restaurants; Wine Spectator’s Best of Award of Excellence and a four star review in the Sun-Sentinel. He has also received the Golden Spoon Award from Florida Trend magazine for the past consecutive 12 years and The Miami Herald touts his food as exceptional.

Stop by the Casa D’Angelo table during the Street Festival an enjoy a delicious sample from Chef Angelo Elia! The American Lung Association is pleased to have this premier restaurant participate in the festival!
